School Dogs

Copperfield Academy would like to introduce our school dogs, TJ, CEO (Chief Enjoyment Officer) and Maggie, CFO (Chief Fun Officer).

TJ, aged 6, and Maggie, aged 3, are both retired, rescued greyhounds. They found their forever home with Mr Clark and his family. These super chilled-out dogs are now sharing their love and calming energy with the wonderful children (and adults) at Copperfield Academy.

Greyhounds are very placid, relaxed dogs. Ideal around children. The myth that greyhounds need lots of exercise could not be further from the truth. Greyhounds love nothing more than laying down, chilling out and having a fuss made of them. Their relaxed nature makes them ideal therapy and service dogs, which is why TJ and Maggie are now at Copperfield Academy.

Out of their working hours, both dogs live in a busy family home with Mr Clark and his three young daughters. So, both dogs are used to, and love the attention of, children!  If your child has an allergy or phobia to dogs, then please do not worry. We have this covered in our RA. All we ask is that you inform the school.

Please feel free to read our School Dogs’ RA and Q&A for further information about how TJ and Maggie safely benefit the children’s well-being and academic development. And please feel free to pop in and say hello to them!
